Hotel ,,Stralz'n"

Franz Schernthaner Sr. (born in the province of Salzburg and died in July 1999 at the age of 69) and Hildegard Lackner (born in the Mürztal, Styria) came for work to Öblarn where they bought Gasthof Stralz'n in 1959. Their marriage gave them 6 children (Franz, Gerhard, Annemarie, Peter, Waltraud und Silvia). In 1986 Franz and Hildegard transferred their Gasthof to their son Gerhard Schernthaner, who now runs Gasthof Stralz'n with his wife Karin and senior staff member Hildegard.

Karin and Gerhard have two children: Nadine and Michaela. Gasthof "Stralz'n" is the place where the Grogger family was born and raised. Paula Grogger the famous novelist (das Grimmingtor, die Hochzeit zu Gstatt) is a descendant from this family. According to well-informed sources, the first resident was named Stralz, which explains the name Gasthof zum "Stralz'n".
